Sylvester’s dream is to surf the best surf spots in the Philippines. It came true with the help of the Philippine surfing community connected through social media. I-Connect TV host and PSA surf coach Paolo Soler saw Sylverster ripping the waves of Magic Left a couple of months ago. Paolo was amazed by his skills in handling waves double his size and decided to bring Sylvester to Calicoan island to compete for the 8th Guiuan National Surfing Competition.

Through Paolo Soler’s Facebook message asking for support in the surfing community, we were able to have enough budget to fly Sylvester and his guardian Reynald Liwarin to Guiuan.
I- Connect is a TV portal of social media that brings citizen journalism to a new level. It is geared towards nation building from the grassroots. Hosted by Social Media personalities X Guia, Paolo Soler, and Abra, I-Connect keeps viewers posted on online trends and the latest gadgets and events. Pilipinas Natin Volunteers will also serve as citizen journalists who will share with viewers the power of Social Media to inspire and instill change.
