Piso Alcala Champion of the 18th Siargao International Surfing Cup

September 27, 2012, Gen. Luna, Siargao Island, Surigao Del Norte: A momentous victory for Siargao local surf athlete Edito “Piso” Alcala, one of Siargao’s top surfers who dominated the recently concluded Siargao International Surfing Cup held last September 23-27, 2012 at the world famous Cloud 9 in General Luna. It was a perfect timing for the competition to push through as big waves from the Pacific Ocean gave its marvelous barreling waves which made the competition more exciting.

Piso, who’s riding for Stokedinc. is considered to be one of the best surfers in the Philippines. Piso received a total cash prize of P150,000 and a trophy. According to Piso, he was able to achieve his victory through self confidence, experience and believing that he will take home the title.

A total of 36 competitors competed for the title of becoming the champion of the 18 Siargao International Surfing Cup.
