A local from Siargao dominated the Roxy International Women’s Surfing Cup held at the world class surf spot, Cloud-9. It was indeed a home court advantage for this 20 year old local from Siargao who showed an amazing display of skills in ripping those waves, making her as one of the most revered female surfer in the country. Nilve, did a great job in handling those big waves of Siargao, maintaining her composure and being focused on her goal to bring home the staggering cash prize of P120,000.
Australian past-professional World Tour surfer Kim Wooldridge winning the 1st runner title and Nilve Blancada from Siargao, Philippines wins her championship title for Roxy Siargao International Women’s Surfing Cup.
” I’m so happy to win this competition, the prize money is a big help for me and my family,” said Nilve. She really earned the title of being a champion and having the bragging rights for the said competition.

The Roxy Siargao International Women’s Surfing Cup gave the local girls an opportunity to let the world know about the growing surfing scene in the Philippines. It also empowers the women to engage in surfing as their sport. We will be seeing a lot from this girls in the future, as Roxy continues to support and help our local talents reach their goal of surfing in the international competition.
This event is proudly supported and sanctioned by the Asian Surfing Championship. The ASC is fulfilling its mission to grow the sport of surfing in South East Asia from the grassroots level assisting each country in organizing professional surfing events.
