Philippines Dominated the Janda Baik Outlaw Race in Malaysia


Once again, our very own Dandoy “Double D” Tongco, one of the Philippines’ pride for downhill longboarding together with Jap Romero of Local Locos dominated the recently concluded Janda Baik Outlaw race held in Malaysia last July 23-24, 2011. Double D recorded best time of 2:17.5 with his agility, speed and experience became his primary weapon to dominate the race while Jap Romero recorded best time of 2:19.46 took the 2nd place in the podium. Malaysia’s very own Jes Ismael Izaidin got third place with a best time of 2:26.54 and Singapore’s Monkey Chase downhill race champion Ros Fie Rozali in fourth place. This shows that this young and talented longboarders has a very bright future in this rapidly growing sport as they continue to excel and dominate and represent each countries, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines and be considered as the Mecca of Downhill longboarding in Asia.

Unity and camaraderie certainly was the main feature of this event as the longboarding community in Asia continuously grow and strengthen the relationship with our neighboring countries.
